Hi,

There is a chance we may be relocating to East Lothian area for my husbands work.

We know nothing about the area but from google I understand that North Berwick is supposed to be

Oops! Posted too soon Blush

....supposed to be nice?

We are looking for an area with nice Countryside and community feel that's not too far from Edinburgh and the Scottish Borders.

DD is only just 3 so school is a little way off but we are keen to find somewhere to settle long term so want to feel comfortable with primary and secondary options.

We want a school that is not purely academia focused. That cares about emotional and social development and ideally has a good arts program and time outdoors/nature emphasis.

We do not want a school that is purely focused on exam results and pushing early academics!

Any recommendations or advice warmly appreciated Smile

North Berwick has the best secondary school in the area, not sure about its policies though. I know a lot of people who would move there to be in the catchment area if they could afford it. NB itself is a desirable town to live in. It also has a regular train into the centre of Edinburgh. You’re never to far away from the coast or countryside anywhere in East Lothian, it’s a beautiful part of the country to live in without being in Edinburgh itself.

Nb high is good but the town's only primary has profound problems. Aberlady, Longniddry, Athelstaneford or Dirleton primaries much better.
