Hi! We’re moving to Newcastle from overseas and we’re looking at property in Crawcrook and Prudhoe areas. Which of the two do you recommend?

out of those two I would choose Prudhoe. But neither would be my first choice.

My sister lives in Prudhoe and loves it. Its very friendly, has a decent range of shops on the high street, and has the train station. I know it very well so happy to answer questions op

The other side of the river from Prudhoe is Ovingham - much nicer.

Hi! Thanks so much for your response! We are considering Crawcrook as well. Do you have any thoughts on that area? I really like Prudhoe because it's really green but I am concerned there aren't many new schools near us.

Hi @Creambun2 we didn't find a lot of houses to buy in Ovingham. Any other areas you recommend? We have 2 young children and we would be near a good primary school in the area.

Where will you/DP be working?

Prudhoe / Crawcrook wouldn't my first choice, but you get more house for your money than in the rest of the Tyne Valley.
I have a number of friends with children in Prudhoe Schools and they really happy with them!

Northumberlandlass · 21/11/2017 13:38

I have friends who love living in Prudhoe ! I don't want to sound disparaging...

I am planning to relocate to Newcastle (or surrounding area) later this year and I am currently on the train up to stay for 11 days. I am a single mum with a 4 year old girl, and we are coming alone, so would love to meet up with friendly mums during our stay and find out more about where we might live in the process! Hopefully if not I can get some questions answered on here!

Ps I have lived in SW London all my life up until now so it’s a big change!
