Primary Schools in Reigate or Epsom, Surrey

My daughter is coming back to UK from Australia in July 2018 with husband and 3 children (ages 4, 6 & 8) and needs to find a good co-ed state school to start them in September 2018.
She wants to live in Reigate or Epsom and I'm hoping for recommendations that I can research for her.
Can anyone please help ? From desperate 'Grandma'.

Hi, I live in Epsom. I have primary school aged children and friends with children in each school so I can give you a quick round up!

Southfield Park - this is where my children go. It is rated outstanding, the buildings are very modern and the facilities are very good, the head teacher is brilliant, it is quite focused on academic achievements. The grounds are not that big but it is next to a large local park which is used for some sports.
It is one of the few schools in Epsom with a specific catchment area. This is basically Livingstone Park and Clarendon Park and priority goes to those furthest area in the catchment. But everyone who lives on Clarendon and Livingstone has got a place since it changed to two form.

Epsom Primary - this is the least popular school but it is actually a very good school. It has great resources and gives the children brilliant opportunities, especially in music. It is rated good. The grounds are a very decent size and it has good wraparound care.
Stamford Green - great grounds, rated outstanding, it is a big school and I think it has four form entry. I wasn’t that impressed by the head when we looked round but that is just personal opinion. Everyone I know with children there loves it.
St. Martins - big grounds, Church of England School so quite a lot of focus on religion but I’ve never heard anyone complain about the RE side. It has good wraparound care.
Wallace Fields - rated outstanding, good grounds, very popular so you have to live extremely close to the school.

To be honest you can’t really go wrong with any of the schools in Epsom. I love living here and would find it very hard to leave!

I don't know about Reigate but popular Epsom schools to look up:

Wallace Fields Infant and Junior
Nonsuch Primary school
The Mead Infant School
Southfield Park
Stamford Green
Possibly West Ewell Primary

I would personally avoid Epsom Primary, St. Martins and Danetree.

Forgot to add The Mead Infant has a feeder - Auriol Junior school. Both Popular schools.

I forgot to say - don’t believe the estate agents. They will always tell you that you are in the catchment for popular schools when you aren’t!

So grateful for all the info. Really helpful. It’s going to make my life so much easier. And I will be wary of estate agents’ comments on catchment areas. I will ask the schools instead !

And in case anyone has more info on Reigate schools, I would be grateful if you could let me know. Thanks again.

Nonsuch Primary is one form entry (and is under LB Sutton) so it might be difficult getting 3 places in the appropriate years.

Meadow Primary School is literally next door and is 3 form entry. My DC go here and we are very happy with the school and my friends who also have DC there are too.

Both are in the Stoneleigh area.

All the primary schools in Reigate are good. Id be thinking more about secondary school catchments than primary tbh, then you don't have to look to moving again in a few years time. Where we live is slap bang in the middle within walking distance of 2 great primaries & the outstanding comp. Now my kids are older im selling up & moving outside of catchment to a bigger place where I can get more for my money.

One thing to consider is that if you're moving mid year then you will literally only be able to apply for places once you have moved & can prove your address & will be governed entirely by school places. The demand for school places in Surrey is ridiculous, you often hear of people being offered a school many miles away for their child, & im talking for one child during normal admission time. The chances of having places for 3 kids in one primary is as likely as finding a needle in a haystack highly unlikely & they will may end up at different schools. Thats the reality im afraid!

I’m beginning to realise just how difficult it is to find a primary school for all 3. If they can’t find places in the same school, how is a Mum expected to deliver and collect 3 children to/from 3 different schools at the same time each day ? It’s insane !

They will be staying with us for the first few weeks, while they look for a house to rent close by. As they will be resident with us for a while, I’m wondering if they can use our address to apply in January for a school locally. We do have an Ofsted Outstanding primary down the road. Does anyone know if this would be possible ?
