special needs secondary schools??

Our DS is really struggling in yr 9 bristol state school. Adopted and dyslexic, otherwise very sporty and social. Has anyone got experience of Shapwick or other schools in Somerset/Gloucs/Bristol area, boarding and day. We're desperate!Thanks
