Building a portfolio (Photographer)

Im just attempting to build my portfolio to necome a photographer and was just wondering if i could follow any established photographers around. Any setting, wedding, family shoots, anything.
All for free obviously...

Sorry you've not had a response from a photographer. Have you considered offering to do an event at cost?

Thing is apart from a camera, i have no equipment, so thst would be hard.
