Hi All!

Thought I'd share info on an interesting talk taking place at Northbridge House on Wednesday 17th October, 6pm -7.45pm.

Following his series of successful talks in May and June, health education expert Dr Aric Sigman, is going back to North Bridge House Nursery and Pre-Prep School (NBH) to give a free talk to parents called "Parenting the Demanding Generation".

Based on his book 'The Spoilt Generation', Dr Sigman will explain why he believes that authoritative parenting leads to better-adjusted and more competent children, the importance of authority and boundaries in child development, and standing up to demanding children.

The talk will give us parents the opportunity to discover the common denominators in child wellbeing that exist from NW London through to some of the most remote places on earth. (Dr Sigman has travelled extensively and to observe a variety of cultures including North Korea, Bhutan, Myanmar, Laos, Iran and Far Eastern Siberia). He will also share his thoughts on why it so important to be parent rather than a friend, to set boundaries, pull rank and just say “no”.

Hope it's of interest to others!
