Moving from London

Hi all
I've moved from west London not long ago and have a nearly 2 year old daughter .
I have lots of good friends that have been friends with for many years back in London.
I would love to make new friends but not sure how !?
Is there anyone else who have just moved from London?

Welcome! Dorset is a big county. It might help if you are little more specific as to where you've moved to.

Welcome to beautiful Dorset! There's plenty of groups around and a fair few soft plays that you could pop into? I recently downloaded an app called Hoop and it has all the different groups/lessons/swimming things within a decent distance of my postcode! Going to check out a wriggle and rhyme group next week in fact!

Dorset so wondsrful but very varied as to whether village/town sea or countryside! So very much going on in the area. Best to look local to make some friends though.

what's local to You? Try joining toddler groups, or toddld activities or even just hanging out at the park and chatting to other parents. (And shhhh but do netmums do the find a friend thing still?)

I've moved to ringwood which is actually Hampshire/ Dorset

I always get excited when people post on here to say that they are moving down and want advice, they never move near us though

Hi and welcome, we moved to east Dorset 12 years ago from London, massive change and we are planning to go back but we are older with no children. Ringwood is a nice village, would you consider voluntary work, Community First is based in ringwood and can be a good way to meet new people. There are a few toddler playgroups in ringwood. Its easy to feel isolated but its a great place to bring up children. There may be coffee morning groups, check in the library and tourist office.

I moved a year ago from north wales to wareham with my 2 year old little boy? There are so many things to do with a toddler in Dorset but without knowing anyone it can make it quite lonely on your own ! I decided to start working part time which made a huge difference to me, not only did I get much needed time away from my toddler 😊 But found my feet again! So maybe a little part time job would be a good way?? I'm not too far from you so if you wanted to meet up for a little toddler play date and a coffee give me shout!
