Car Rental Hire/alt transport option - St Albans

We are travelling to St Albans from London and need to be at Sandringham School by 9am. We are planning to hire a car and spend the day in St Albans. Can anyone recommend a car hire place or best transport option (at that time of the morning) getting to Sandringham School from St Albans City train station? Unsure what the traffic is like near the station in the morning and how much time we need to leave to pick up a hire car and get to the school.

Is Uber an option in St Albans?

There is usually a row of taxis parked on the road outside the station if that's any help. Traffic isn't great in St Albans at that time of the morning but if you get to the station by 8.30 you should be OK.

If you want to be 100% certain, you can book most St Albans taxis online in advance. Ask them what time they need to pick you up.
