So, we just moved to Sheen from the US, I have a daughter starting year 7 and a son in year 9, Richmond Academy. I'm looking at shoes and I'm wondering what are the best ones to get? I mean, I don't want to lumber my kids with the most uncool shoes a mum could buy..... I hear that girls can opt for Doc Martins, how about black leather Allstars? What are the boys going for? Blush

I'd check the school uniform policy very carefully. We're not at RPA (other side of the borough) but the children are only allowed Doc shoes (not boots) and nothing that looks like it was ever related to a trainer/converse. They also have to be polishable, so no nubuck or suede. The Shoe Station in Kew is brilliant but may not go large enough if your DC have biggish feet.

Good tip, thank you! I've seen other school websites have examples of acceptable and non acceptable shoes, RPA doesn't.
