GP appointments in Bromley

You may have already heard that Bromley GPs are now providing more patient appointments in the evenings and at weekends. These extended services are available from 4pm to 8pm in the evening and 8am to 8pm at weekends at one of the three Bromley GP Alliance access hubs.

The hubs are based in Beckenham, central Bromley and Orpington. To get an appointment, simply call your GP practice as usual. If your need is urgent and there is no appointment available in your practice, you will be offered an appointment at one of the hubs (you will still be registered with your practice). If you need to see a GP urgently when your practice is closed please call 111.

Dr Andrew Parson, Clinical Lead at NHS Bromley CCG and Bromley GP said, “Patients have told us that they needed better access to GP services and that it was hard for people who worked during the day to get an appointment. In response we set up a pilot extended GP service over a year ago which has proved very popular with patients. This has now been made a permanent arrangement and we are confident these additional appointments will further improve access and patient satisfaction."

Here at Mumsnet we hear that people seem pretty happy with these services. If you have used them, let us know what you think.

You can find more information on the Bromley NHS pages.

I've used the hub at Trinity Village. Worked excellently - ds seen very quickly. We don't go to the GP very often and so don't have a pressing need to see a particular GP and this was just a one off infected finger - easily sorted. I'm less happy with the difficulty now at my GP practice to make routine non-urgent appointments for things that crop up but which would be a waste of an urgent appointment. But it is what it is and generally am very happy with the service.

Great to hear, Pooka, thank you. We used the service ourselves very recently and it was definitely a positive experience - very efficient and quick.

Am I right in thinking that Elm House in Beckenham isn't part of the Alliance? Which is hilarious as it's owned by the same people who own Cator....
