We've been living in Epsom for the last cpl of years . Very poor experience of Epsom Hospital. If you need to use a hospital which ones have the better reputations please.

Read the whole thread suburban and stop quoting isolated sentences.

I asked if others could recommend hospitals other than Epsom because our experiences there were poor. We moved to Surrey about two years ago. Epsom is in Surrey. Clearly the Surrey local board is about as understanding as healthcare providers in the Epsom area.

Thank you for recommending St Peter's. We'll give it a twirl if we need A&E again.

Yep, have RTFT. It's only two pages long so can manage that.

I'm not the only person who has quoted your post saying Surrey is poor for healthcare Hmm

Well this has taken an odd turn! Confused

I think some people are just here for a fight. Feel as though I might as well have posted in AIBU.

Who's having a fight?

I just don't think it's ok to make sweeping generalisations about an entire county's health provision based on one family's experience of services in one hospital.

I don't get why that's such a big ask.

It is absolutely impossible imo, to conclude that the OP believes or meant that all NHS care in Surrey is poor.

We know from the OP that she has no experience of other hospitals in Surrey. It was just a slip up in words (already admitted), at 11 o'clock on a Monday night in a casual internet conversation with someone obviously pro-NHS who she believed might have a connection (i.e. me).

I do not believe she meant to offend or imply that all NHS services in Surrey are poor. Why on earth would she be asking about alternative services in Surrey if she believed that?

Anyway, I've got some bathrooms to clean Smile

Hi, OP's mum Grin

MelvinThePenguin · 24/08/2017 20:10

Nope, just the person the 'offending' comment was actually aimed at. Don't mind me, my opinion is irrelevant.

I have been very happy with St Peter's. They saved my daughter's life.

I have found Kingston hospital to be excellent and that is in Surrey. Royal Surrey in Guildford were also excellent in my experience. If you're chosing which hospital to use in an A & E situation OP then perhaps A&E isn't the right choice - most people use the closest possible hospital in an emergency situation.

Hope you have a better experience if you need a hospital in future.

Kingston doesn't count as Surrey because it's in a London Borough.
