Cromer or Sheringham to shop?

I may have my annual two hours shopping on holiday sans famille tomorrow, yippee.

I usually go to Sheringham and enjoy walking the length of the main street, with the gift shops, boutiques, etc but am wondering if I am missing out by ignoring Cromer? Is there a good range of shops, independent not just high street? Does anyone recommend a browse there?

This may seem overly picky but I don't get this free time at the coast very often and I do love a wander round the shops!

I love Cromer but don't go there for the shops! There are a handful of gift shop places, a fab bakery and lots of cafés but not really a place to browse.

Cromer has more & better independent shops imho.

Does it have to be Cromer or Sheringham?

Try to get to Wells or Holt,

Holt was going to be my suggestion if inland was acceptable, Wells if not!

We are staying between the two and DH is feeling unwell so am only planning to leave him with the kids for a while, hence the local choices. Also genuinely wondering if Cromer has more than I've previously thought.

Oh and DH is fine about it

Holt shops seem a bit samey to me, all upmarket froofroo (overpriced stuff nobody needs).
I never find any interesting shops in Wells!
Sheringham is pokey, imho.
Cromer best by far.

And you can check out the Mammoth museum in Cromer.

Went to Cromer. Found a nice art etc shop but sadly have neither wall space nor that kind of money and checked out all the charity and gift shops. Bought nothing. Got rained on. Sorry Cromer but for shops I do prefer Sheringham.
