Mamas, what weekend classes have your children enjoyed? I am looking for a regular activity (sport, art, etc) for my two sons 6 and 9 years old starting in September?

Sorry I should have added that I prefer central to South Cambridge location.

Stagecoach and diving have gone well for my DSs. Others have done football (always good even if not actually all that keen on football itself because at least knowing the rules is so important socially for boys, it seems). What sort of things do they like?

Cambridge KungFu run lots of Saturday classes. Mine enjoys it.

Thanks so much to all who replied!

At the moment I am looking at field hockey, cricket (which is relatively easy to find), and art and coding (which is less easy, so I'd appreciate leads). Thanks for the tip on KungFu, looks great.

For hockey you want City of Cambridge hockey club on Sundays or Cambridge Nomads who I think train on Saturdays. But only in season - so September to Easter.

Thank you, I appreciate these tips. Would also love to hear reviews from parents whose children attended these...

Cambridge Woodland Academy runs a Forest School at Wandlebury Country Park on a Saturday. www.cambridgewoodlandacademy.com

Oh that looks excellent, thank you, PinkyBlunder!

Cambridge Kung Fu are absolutely amazing; I can thoroughly recommend them.

For coding (and making stuff with computers and electronics), the Raspberry Jam @ Pi Towers is regular, but monthly rather than weekly, on Station Road. It's free, and their Twitter account has details of upcoming jams. Full disclosure: I work for Raspberry Pi and this event is run by a colleague. I did try looking for Hacklab events in Cambridge too, but there don't seem to be any coming up; I understand they're excellent, though, if you do come across any.
