Help regarding Mickleover schools Primary and Secondary

Hi, I'm moving back to Derbyshire after living away for a few years. Can anyone please give advice on schools around Mickleover.
I have a 4 year old just starting school who mixes well with other kids so should settle well but my 10 year old has high functioning autism and although very smart academically he struggles a bit with change so we want to get him settled soon in a primary school where he can make friends before the big shift to high school next year.

Any recommendations for primary or high schools? I was told John Port is very good but are the others on par? I know Ofsted rating is nothing to go by.

I'd love to hear peoples views on any of the schools.

Thanks.

Mickleover is tricky I believe for secondary. A lot of people have gone for John Port (not actually in Derby) but it has just been put into SM. Otherwise Murray Park is not the best :(. Beyond that you're out of catchment I would imagine so could be risky.

Primaries in Mickleover OTOH all pretty good I think.

Don't know much about primaries but Littleover secondary is excellent. Some areas of Mickleover are in catchment but if you ds has special needs, I THINK you can apply for any secondary regardless of catchment. The new estate next.to.Mickleover, Langley Country Park, is Ecclesbourne catchment. That and Littleover would be the best choices imo but not if travel could be an issue for ds?
