I'm looking for any advice on nice areas around St Helens or even the Merseyside area. My DH is working in Warrington and we're looking to move close by.We quite liked Rain hill when we drove by at the weekend. It had a lovely village feel with nice well kept houses. However know nothing about schools or whether it's a nice place to raise children.Any advice would be great.

Rainhill is a lovely place to live, I love it here and the primary schools are all very popular and perform really well. I've been in the area for about 15 years and really enjoy the village feel and general sense of community in Rainhill.
The public transport links are excellent too, the station in the village runs on the Manchester to Liverpool line, Thatto heath station is a five minute drive away with trains running up to Scotland.
You are also placed well for travel by car with the m62 nearby for easy access to Liverpool, Warrington and Manchester.
I would really recommend Rainhill! Xx

Sorry I should add that we moved into Rainhill specifically for the schools, community and facilities shortly after we had our first child.
