We are moving to Winchester. I would really appreciate any comments/opinions about Perins School located just outside Winchester. Thanks

Perins is fine.
Alresford is a nice town.
They are very into their rugby according to my DS
Its a standard Hampshire Comp - big, mixed, a bit like Hampshire.
Feeds into Symonds, Barton or Alton

I went to Perins myself and it was a nice school (but that was some years ago). Alresford is beautiful. Westgate is also a fantastic school. My friend is a supply teacher who has worked at several schools around Hampshire and her dream position for a full time position would be at Perins or westgate. Apparently the children in the classroom were just so well behaved and pleasant to teach. I currently live in Winchester myself. I have nieces and nephews at Kings, Westgate and Henry Beaufort. I am hoping for my DCs to be able to go to Westgate or Perins in a couple of years.

My DC go to Perins. It's not as good as it was IMO. New head isn't as into sport (which Perins is famous for) and has used money intended for sports facilities on his vanity projects.
They are into Rugby, as pp said!
All the children I know who go there are very well mannered though.

I visited Westgste a few years ago when choosing and it's much nicer than when I went there! It's worth looking at, as is Kings.
