Just in case anyone might be interested and doesn't know about this, the Mill Road Feast is back on Sunday.

I was/am disappointed at how Petersfield centric this event is given how much foodie stuff there is generally in Romsey

I think the August one was supposed to be in Romsey but there were problems with the site and building works, or something, but I heard that the plan was to alternate sides of the bridge, so I guess when whatever issue it is gets resolved then it will go back to that plan. I don't think it's pro-Petersfield bias, just that Gwydir St car park is available and the equivalent space in Romsey isn't (at the moment).

Ahh, that would be the car park with the small playground at the top of Great Eastern St. I have no idea why the building contractors are allowed to swallow up 1/2 of that area during construction works.

I believe Hope St yard had been used in previous food fest events.

One thing I do find a bit odd though is that the event wasn't well advertised on our side of the bridge. Odd given the foodie renaissance that starts with the newish wine shop in Devonshire Rd and continues way down towards the Hemmingford Rd junction in Romsey.

Yes, Vinopolis on Devonshire Rd is an improvement on the old sex shop, isn't it? They sell great Georgian brandy.

Good new and newish things further down the Petersfield side of Mill Road too: Maurizio Dining where The Loco used to be, and the new coffee place next to the Garden Kitchen (and the Garden Kitchen itself, of course, though that's been there about 3 years, I think). And then there's Tom's Cakes which is the best cake shop anywhere, and I'll fight anyone who says different Grin
