advice on Brighton schools

Hi there, I am a mother of two small children considering a move to Brighton and just wondering which primary and specifically secondary schools are recommended in the area. I'm interested in views on Dorothy Stringer and Varndean for secondary and Downs Junior for primary. Any advice much appreciated!

Hi, downs is big and academic and very popular. Just depends on if that's what you're looking for. Same for for Stringer and Varndean. However, be warned the council and looking at radical changes to the catchment system so be warned there are no guarantees over whether you'll get in to either.

Thanks for the advice and the heads up. It always comes down to what happens in a particular year, which makes planning so hard!
