Ely and Kings Ely

Thinking of moving to Ely and putting the children into Kings Ely Sept 2018 (years 7 & 9). Any thoughts? Useful for train, school seems really good, lots of facilities and amenities. Y9 child very bright but has some mild SEN so will be chatting to them about that.

Only good things to say about King's Ely.

Oh, thanks, Here! I must say I can't see anything at all to dislike about it but obviously is such a huge decision that we want to be sure. Do you live in Ely? We are thinking it would be good to be able to walk to the school and the station.

I have heard lots of good things about it and lots of children travel from Cambridge and further afield to go there. They have also done well in Admissions because Ely College has been in dire straits for a number of years so lots of families that wouldn't have normally gone private have sent their DC to King's.

Thanks, Pippa. Very helpful!

No we used to live in one of the surrounding villages and my son went there from year 3 to year 8.

Some people reverse commute out of Cambridge to go there to as the demand for places for indies in Cambridge is so high too.

As I said I used to have a 12 minute drive in each day (we now live in Cambridge and my son is at school in Cambridge) but living in Ely would have been better for the reasons you state but even the drive in was quite pleasant. there aren't the traffic issues like going into central Cambridge.

If you have any specific questions please feel free to pm.
