After school care in Bruntsfield?

Sorry, me again with more questions. So, we've got our school sorted, now we need to sort after school care. Kidzcare are the after school care club for Bruntsfield PS but they are full with a long waiting list. Someone suggested Skool Is Out as an alternative, but same story. Registrations opened in January, places were allocated in May, so getting a space for the coming school year at this late stage is nigh on impossible. Any other suggestions? What do other people do? My husband and I both work, and we don't have any family nearby. Thanks.

Kidscene collect from Bruntsfield Primary. It's a popular, we'll run club so might also have a waiting list 😐

If you are at the Polwarth side then Meville House nursery might be an option. I don't know if they collect from Bruntsfield but they do have an after school club so it might be worth asking if you don't find another option.

We are on the same block as Bruntsfield primary school, a good 20 minute walk from Melville House, but I guess it's worth a try. Thanks.

Now had confirmation from all three after school clubs that they were completely full and their waiting lists are closed as they already have too many people on their waiting lists. One club said it could take up to a year to get a place. Running out of ideas.

Little Monkeys?

bearandfoxblog · 27/06/2017 14:02

What's Little Monkeys? I can only find a nursery in Craiglockhart of that name. Thanks.

That's it but it's at the point where Colinton Road meets Polwarth Terrace. They have an after school club which collects from at least one local primary school so it might be worth asking.

Childminder.

Local students always willing to earn a bob - it's not ideal

ocelot41 · 12/07/2017 22:27

I would second catdil. Actually our childminder (who is a student) turned out to be brilliant! The only problem is that the uni often let's then know quite late in the year when their classes will be

Know this is a bit old so you might not be checking, but what did you do in the end bearandfoxblog? And where did people who found childminders get them from? We've got a daughter starting in August at bruntsfield, and same problems, plus struggling to identify a childminder who might have capacity, so any tips gratefully received.

We're in the same boat rachelorm77! Let us know if you find anything out, we'd really appreciate it.

Hi justin73, will do! You're not by any chance madeline's dad are you?!
