Moving to Croxley Green

Hi all

I'm moving to Croxley Green from Ealing and feeling a bit anxious about moving out of London, to an area where I don't know anyone.

We have a one yr old daughter. Although I'll be working in London, I'll only be in 4 days a week with Monday's off.

What's it like to live in the area? Is it easy to meet people? Would anyone recommend any activities nearby?

Thanks all!

I live nearby. You'll be fine - it's a very family friendly place to live, lots of activities etc.

What are you doing for childcare? What are your interests, and I'll try and steer you in the right direction.

Hello! Lovely to hear from you. Thank you for getting back to me.

We haven't decided what to do on childcare yet - we are looking at childminders and I also visited a few nurseries in the area. I liked the Bright Horizons The Park but it's a bit more of a drive away. We love the outdoors, music, eating out!

Thank you for your advice x

I think you'll find that your first friends locally will be around the childcare, so nursery parents etc.

Depending on which end of Croxley you are, you'll either end up spending time in Rickmansworth or Watford. Both have lots of parks, you have the Green, and some fantastic walks up to Sarratt. The Aquadrome is great too.

If you have any specific questions, fire away!

Thanks so much for your help. We'll let you know if anything more specific comes to mind. I guess we're just a bit nervous of moving somewhere new!

The walks up to Sarratt sound nice, I'll look into it!

Have a look into the walks by the River Chess too.

Hi, I live not far from Croxley and also moved here from Ealing! It's lovely and green, lots of nice walks and really good amenities. I can get into London on the Met line in under an hour (on the fast train).
Schools are good and lots of lovely pubs and restaurants. Best move we ever made (I even convinced my parents to move here and they love it too)

I moved to Croxley from London too and really love it. I'm single with one 10 year old boy. If anyone is still on this thread and fancies meeting up just PM me. OP , I hope you've settled in now- it is a great place to be.
