Hi, we are moving to Godalming this summer from the US where my daughter plays high level football (soccer here!). What clubs should we be looking at near Godalming for her to join please? How does it work in the UK - are there try outs like in the US or do you just apply to play for the team? Thanks for any insights!

It's worth joining the local Facebook groups for this - Godalming Community Board and Godalming & Villages Community Board are both very helpful. Where will she be going to school and how old is she? I don't have children of that age any more but from observation of soccer in the US and the UK it's still better established as a unisex game in the US, things may be a bit different over here.

Milford Pumas could be a good place to start, although I don't personally know anything about them.

Many of the schools run after school football clubs with a private company, SCL, which a number of girls attend. SCL also run football holiday clubs too.

Additionally Little Rays also run holiday football clubs. They operate out of Godalming Town football club.

Hello

I'm not sure if we'll be too far out (30ish mins away) but Berks County FC have girls' football at Coworth Flexlands on Saturday mornings for U11s.

Welcome to the area Smile

Farncombe (FYFC) have some girls that play there, but excellent advice from a previous poster regarding Godalming Community board.
