Secondary schools

Hi, I'm looking for some advice about the high schools in Perth. From an academic attainment perspective Perth high and academy seem to fair better than the grammar, but from trying to delve a little deeper the high school and academy seem to be plagued with reports of teacher absence, bullying and other antisocial behaviour.
It's nigh on impossible to make a decision without some real opinions and experiences. I see that Kinross and Auchterarder seem well regarded but I'm hoping not to have to commute too far and want to base myself where I can travel to both PRI and Ninewells . Any and all responses gratefully received.

From experience Perth Grammar and St John's are far superior to the other two

Perth High has a relatively new HT, so may be improving now. Academy is fine if your DC are academic, but my DS did not have a good experience there.

Hi , I am also planning to move to Perth from Yorkshire. I have four children ranging from primary school age, to secondary and college age. I would appreciate any advice on the schools. Their current schools and college are excellent and all of the kids are quite academic. Slightly perturbed by some of the reports relating to some of the High schools.in Perth. My husband has been offered a job in Dundee, but we think our best bet is to live in Perth. We are looking into Perth High, Perth Academy, Perth Grammar and St Johns RC.
