The Jo Cox Foundation is encouraging people to get together in their neighbourhoods (over the weekend of 17/18 June) to celebrate (in Jo’s words) the fact that : ‘we have more in common than that which divides us’
Please join us in a simple event in Newton—to get to know people in your local community. We are asking people to come with their own picnics, perhaps food to share & any other activities or games to help people have fun and mix together. It is not an event to entertain people—so don’t expect brass bands (unless you have one that you would like to bring?!). This event is simply about giving everyone the chance to meet at least one person they haven’t met before - it’s not about politics or being formal - it’s simply about being friendly and being able to say hello to more people in the future - we are a stronger community if we know each other!
Bring a picnic & a blanket and share food & games. At the end of the event, you can donate the blanket and tinned/packaged food to West Cheshire Foodbank and Chester Aid to the Homeless. Please come along!
