recently moved to Bromley and after submitting my application for my sons school into reception into Bickley primary or St George's, I was offered a place into Harris Primary Academy.

I was very angry and sad but then again I read that they have an "Outstanding" review for Ofsted just last month. Can anyone please give me some advice on this. I am at the verge of declining the offer but if the school is good then my son can go.

pls help!! thank you all.

Have you been to see the school? Ofsted reposts are just a snapshot, you can't really get a feel for a school and whether it will suit your child unless you have visited it.

Do not decline the place though. If you do, Bromley Council will no longer be legally obligated to find your child a place.

Assuming this is for September, accept the place and then make sure you are on the waiting lists for Bickley and St George's,there is often movement on the waiting lists and you may get offered a place at one of those before the new school year starts.

The school has only been open for 3 years and so I would imagine it is good. I expect that the oldest year group would be year 3 and so you are less likely to have the behavioural problems you can find with older kids.

Some of the teachers are excellent - they moved from my DC's school when it opened.
They were in a temporary. building in Bromley but the new building in Shortlands (a lovely area) is now rea.dy
