Moving to South Yorkshire

Hi all I was hoping that you can all help? I have been offered a job but I must move to Doncaster or a DN postcode. Can anyone help with some nice areas with good schools for my little one? I am from Glasgow so its a massive decision and I want to know where is the best places to stay? good community and so forth. My husband is from Hull so places within the DN postcode closer to hull would be good.

Hi, im new to the DN area after being bought up in derbyshire, at first i was out my comfort zone but now im getting used to the area. There's loads of schools that are nice. I rang round 6 schools before i found one for my little boy. Brilliant community from what iv experienced i tend to keep myself to myself. Iv found more people you socialize with more bulls*it! and as you know when your a mum you really cba 😂 hope this helps

Honestly if I had to move to a DN postcode I would only really look at the Bawtry area, or maybe Bessacarr if you have to be actually in Doncaster.

How close do you have to actually be to Doncaster? As the DN postcode area extends out to Notts etc.

I don't really know, i always thought notts were NG Bawtry's lovely!!

No some of north Notts, eg Retford, is a DN postcode.
