Moving to Duddingston

Hi all
I'm new to this and just wondering if anyone can advise me about Duddingston/portobello area in Edinburgh. I'm soon to have a baby and am considering move to Duddingston. What's the community like there for new mums and also if anyone knows about the northfield estate and whether it'd be a problem to live near there?

I lived in Portobello until very recently. It's a great place for new parents. There are loads of activities/opportunities to meet other new parents and the parks and beach are fantastic. I thoroughly recommend it!
