Fordham CoE primary school

I'm starting a new thread as I haven't found many opinions online...
We had an offer on a house accepted recently and will be moving to Isleham (hopefully before the start of a school year). My DD is due to start Reception this year. Isleham Primary is oversubscribed and they have a waiting list already but Fordham has spaces available so we will most likely move our DD there.
Do anyone's children attend this school? I read the OFSTED report which was really good (albeit a bit old! 2010 :)
I was really hoping that we'd have a school around the corner but it seems like it wasn't meant to be. Do any of you have experiences of your kids going to school not in their immediate neighbourhood? Does it impact on the social/after school life? Please tell me I'm worrying about nothing :)

I live in the village. The school is very well thought of and DD will be going in Sept 2018.

One of my neighbours is a teaching assistant in the Reception classes and says it is great.

Up until only 2 years ago the school was always oversubscribed but they're just finishing a massive extension and now take a double intake each year.

They are overdue an OFSTED report and there has been a change of Head since the last one, but as far as I've heard it is still very well thought of and there's great community support for the school - the Summer Fete 2 weeks ago was very well supported.

Just to add, I spoke to my neighbour again and she said because the school has had 3 "Outstanding" reports in succession, it is not required to have another one unless concerns are raised.

We're just waiting to exchange contracts now so we can make an application and hopefully sort everything out before school starts!
