So I am trying to complete couch to 10k with the view to doing a hal marathon at the end of the year but I find it hard to self motivate. I would really like a running buddy...

Can't help you in Peterborough, but there are some really supportive groups that run in Bourne if you're willing to travel

Dashper · 17/06/2017 17:00

I'll give it a go if you're still looking. Where in Peterborough do you live?

StrawberriCream · 22/08/2017 21:34

OP here still on the look out for someone. I need motivating!!

Have a look at the be a better runner Peterborough area group on fb. not been myself but they have sessions twice a week. Also lots of jogging / running clubs around the area that you could go and jog with depending on where you live.

Join runmummyrun on Facebook groups, there's quite a Few mums on there

It's friendly and v v supportive Smile

I keep doing facebook search for peterbprough running but nothing came up will try these two thanks. Have jpined the gym fpr a mo th with the theory that paying up front will help get me out

ReedBunting · 23/08/2017 17:51

There's really no need to pay silly money for a gym. Running clubs will let you go along for a few sessions without you needing to be a member to see if you like it. Then annual membership would be in the region of £15-£30. The "Be a better runner group" on fb is only £1 a time.

Take a look at gpan.org.uk and click on members and this brings up a list of 9 jogging/running clubs in the Peterborough area.

How about Yaxley Runners?

StrawberriCream · 24/08/2017 07:22

Thanks for this will have a look ☺

ALocalNameForLocalPeople · 24/08/2017 11:01

Yaxley Runners seem to do a fair bit around Peterborough - I used to live in Hampton, and they always seemed to have some sort of fun run or event going on. I think they have a group in Hampton Hargate as well as Yaxley, but don't quote me on that!

There are posters all around town for a free lunchtime/morning running group too - if you don't see any of the posters on your travels, look on healthypeterborough.org.uk - should be some info on there Smile

StrawberriCream · 24/08/2017 19:36

Ive seen them posters but i cant do the yimes due to work / childcare commitments. Seen there is werrington joggers which is probably closest to me 😊

LocalEdPeterborough · 05/09/2017 19:55

Hi

I wanted to pop by and say Hi and to find out if you did eventually find a running buddy or running group?

This site might be helpful:
run4fun.co.uk/index.htm

Please let me know if I can be of any help at all

Kind regards
Pauline

StrawberriCream · 05/09/2017 19:58

Ive been out on my own a bit. I can be a bit shy about trying new things and then things just get in the way of going to the groups. I just need to get the drive behind me!
