Does anyone commute from the southside of Glasgow to Edinburgh centre? If so, how do you travel and does anyone know of a car share? Thank you!

Hey there. I'm in the west end but a colleague commutes from south side. She gets the cathcart circle then walks from central to the fast train from queen street. Door to door it's about an hour 45mins, we work just up the road from waverley

Train is pricey but driving in edinburgh is hell and really no point if you're in city centre. It can be 2.5hrs commute by car from the south side on a busy day and cheapest parking is the q park which does do annual tickets but is still pricey.

The new M8 has improved things but the real problem is when you come off and head for edinburgh centre - that 8 ish miles alone can be 45mins on a busy day

OH will be from June. He's driving leaves at 6am as his shift starts at 7am. It's quiet so it's quite quick at that time.

I live in battlefield, Glasgow and start work in musselburgh from August. I don't drive and was wondering if anyone commutes to edinburgh so we can maybe carpool and share the cost?
