Summer holiday clubs

Hi! Just wondered what the good holiday clubs in Cambridge (especially north or west) and surrounding areas, are? An educational or sporty club / summer school, preferred. Age 5 to 7 range. Looking for somewhere where staff are v v good and trustworthy and I can feel safe leaving little ones! Thank you, thank you for any advice!

Check out 'Smartkidz Play and Learn' at Girton Glebe school - on their website or Facebook page. They have lots of outside space for the children to play in, including forest school type activities & use of the school pool in the summer, and do lots of structured activities each day. It is used for holiday childcare by families outside of Girton too so not all the children already know each other. Open 8am - 6pm throughout the holidays. My daughter really enjoys it.

Cambridge Kids Club, which has various locations, might be worth a look too.

Your younger child is too young for this one at the moment, as they are for age 7+ (year 2 up) but you did ask for sporty clubs... (And may be useful to someone else)

New croft club (at newnham croft school)

Another sporty one - Chesterton sports centre on Gilbert Road run Sports holiday clubs. I've not used them myself as I prefer the more enclosed nature of a holiday club at a school, but maybe worth a look.

Supercamps, Kings Camp. - At Perse (Prep, I think) and Leys

I personally would not recommend Baracudas as my son got bored there.

Univ Playscheme not too bad but likewise for boredom if day in day out.

Cambridge Kung Fu do summercamp (non residential) it's the best of the best and a bargain even after the earlybird booking is up.

TJ Kids, but not sure if they are open to all. They have a Wilderbase outdoor space.

Does anyone recommend any holiday clubs for older kids (12/13)? A lot of them seem to stop at 11/12. I think Kings Camps have a section for teens but would love to know what others have used. Thanks

The netball & athletics camps I mentioned higher up are for up to age 14 / year 9. They are only in the first week but might help.

watching. I have a 7 and 10 year old. The 7 year old will be happy most places. The 10 year old not so much...

Kings Camps Rookie camp goes from 12 up to 17, so that's a possibility, only full weeks though. For the odd days I keep finding activities that sound great but only run for short days. Supercamps looks a possibility for my youngest.

If you think your DC might like a bit of performing the Stagecoach holiday weeks are great. Good value, they take childcare vouchers and the teachers are lovely.

Holiday Orchestra and Musicale are ok for older kids, but both are musical not sport.

Cambridge Kung Fu are absolutely amazing (DS aged 7 goes regularly to Little Dragons) but the holiday camp is only one week.

DS liked Stagecoach, had a patchy experience with Mad Science, hated Barracudas (was bullied and found the constant activities exhausting), loved my DH's college playscheme which is unfortunately no longer, and we're trying the University playscheme this year. There's something for everyone in Cambridge, but you might have to try a few things before you find something that works for your child.
