Hi
Where are you moving from? Congratulations, it's scary but exciting.
In terms of schools, I'd recommend making a short list and visiting all to get a feel, as ofsted ratings only give you a glimpse, as I'm sure you're already aware. When we were looking for our now six year old it was a 'low birth rate' and we could choose any, not depending on catchment areas. We lived right next to Heron Hill at the time but preferred a different school, which we love. Dean Gibson is a catholic school, but this isn't a stipulation for entry. I'm sure schools are still under subscribed now.
Check out; From the top dance, diddi dance, dance at Brewery Arts for local dance classes.
In terms of nurseries, again I'd visit as many as possible. You may prefer an independent one, or one attached to your preferred school.
There are current SW posts, have you checked the CCC job page? Workington is an awfully long drive down a windy road, I wouldn't commute that far. I'm in a similar work role, services are lacking here compared to what I'm used to, and pay less in my field but I've never struggled to find employment.
I presume you're on mat leave? I am, with my six month old. Loads of baby groups and activities available, I'm loving mat leave and have met so many new people, really struggled when first moved but feeling so settled now as I've forced myself to try lots of new things.
When do you get here?
More than happy to help, please feel free to message me for further info.
And, good luck x
