Moving to Cheshire

Hello we are thinking of relocating to Cheshire from Essex, we are looking at Sandbach, Weston, near Nantwich (in particular Shavington), or should I be thinking about other areas too? I am worried about relocating due to missing friends and family and just after some advice really and also opinions on schools in the area, I think Brine Leas is nearby to Shavington but hard to get into apparently. I'm in my forties and a little worried as I have lived in the same town all my life together with lots of friends and family, however I do have one friend that already lives in Cheshire. I have a 10 year old (starts senior school Sept 2018) and a 12 year old already in year 7. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated....

I think Weston feeds into Alsager School which again, is excellent. Could you call the two school and see if they have places for your 12 yo?

Wow so many threads on moving to Cheshire lately! Great to hear. I'd take a look at the other threads on this talk board, where people have asked about moving to Chesire from other areas of the country as these will give you an idea of other peoples experiences about relocation, my own included - London to Knutsford. Hi there am looking for advice on nice villages/small towns between Winsford and Warrington for relocation. My children are 9 and 7 so half decent primary schools/high schools, affordable houses, poss nice pub for Sunday lunch and parks, swimming! Winsford, Hartford, Northwich be any good to me ? Also open to suggestions! Thanks

Both the schools in Sandbach (separate girl's and boy's schools) have very good reputations. Alsager school has had a recent outstanding ofstead but as Voices says you may be reliant on where has spaces.

Winsford NO. Hartford a lovely village. Northwich has some nice areas. Both Leftwich and Hartford high schools are good schools. Hartford excellent primary school. As is Winnington Primary and Charles Darwin Primary which is in Castle, which is a bit hit and miss. Other areas near Northwich, Comberbach,
Nantwich lovely too as is Sandbach. Avoid Crewe.
