Primary schools - Epping

Hello,
Does anyone have any views on the quality of teaching / children's happiness in either Epping Primary or Ivy Chimneys?
Also, should I be concerned that the stats on Epping Primary show that only 49% of all children reach the expected standard in reading, writing and mathematics :/

I know the schools although don't have DC there. Most parents I know are pretty happy with both schools. There was just one that wasn't sure her daughter was happy at Epping.

Ivy Chimneys is quite "rigourous" in terms of homework etc I believe. Friends' DCs were getting spelling lists home for a weekly test in reception. It also has mixed-age classes, which I'm not personally keen on, but they have been set up that way for a while so presumably know how to manage it. I did hear talk that they were planning to expand it to two-form entry.

Epping is two-form entry. It is a new building and when I visited it seemed to feel very big, but that might be because most schools in the area are smaller. Last year was the new SATs format and were very difficult. The national average was around 53% so 49% is not that much below it, although it is lower than the results of some of the other local schools.

Both schools are oversubscribed and you need to live fairly close to get a place.
