Fun parties for kids near Bath

I want to create a birthday party for a small group of children aged 10.

It will be located at a house but I want it to be something different to party games and sugar.

I have some ideas of doing something crafty or arty but wanted opinions.

Have you looked into a cooking party?
I had one with www.cookingit.co.uk and they were simply fantastic. I had it at home too. The mess wasn't too bad and the kids had a ball!

I never thought about a cooking party, that's such a good idea.
I decided to go with a craft party at The Makery as it doesn't go on for too long and the kids love making things.
