Looking for advice on piano lessons. My almost 5 yo is showing a keen interest in the piano. Is this too young to start lessons? Can anyone recommend a piano teacher in Edinburgh South?

I know I can wait until school to do this, although I think at Watsons they encourage recorder first for a couple of years before piano lessons. Also, I don't know if I'm keen for my dc to have music lessons during the school day at the expense of general lessons, ie. do it outwith school, after school instead.

Robert Briggs, bookable through mostentertaining.com, is fantastic. Five isn't necessarily too young if your child is genuinely interested and will follow instruction.

Fwiw, I had music lessons during the day all through primary and secondary. Didn't do me any harm in terms of my education - have a few PhD friends who did as well Smile.
