Primaries in West Bridgford

Hello mumsnetters

We'll be moving to West Bridgford in the next couple of months from West London. I have a 3 year old ds who will be starting school in September next year so a bit early I know. Just wanted to know if anyone had some knowledge on pre school allocations in the area. Providers etc.
Also from what I have read, it appears that we'll need to apply for a primary from November. I have read about Lady bay, Pierrepont, Abbey Road; hopefully I'll be able to have a look round soon with ds but in the meantime what are your experiences of these schools- if any? I have to say they appear to be really great.
Thanks in advance xx

Applications for YrR open at the end of Oct/beginning of Nov each year and you can apply online at the Nottinghamshire County Council website. Most academies also participate in the co-ordinated scheme, meaning that you can apply once through the county council website and list them as one of your preferences if they are no longer an LA school. There isn't a bad school in West Bridgford, though some have had a bit of a rough ride in the recent past, but that is behind them now. I would just be aware that even moving into catchment in West Bridgford may not guarantee you a school. Some catchments are over subscribed and can be an odd shape. This means you can be at a disadvantage if you are in a catchment but are furthest away from the school.

Due to building at Edwalton, there will be pressure on places next year, as a new school has not yet been approved.
