Hi i hope someone can give me some advice on this. My husband and I are considering moving out of London and are looking at either Chesham or Berkhamsted. We already know a few couples in Berko and we like the town, but are tempted by Chesham because it's in the Met line and house prices are that bit less. I was wondering if anyone could give me the low down, on what it is like to live there. My husband and I are quite sociable so we like to have nice pubs and restaurants nearby. We have a baby whose approaching 1. Thanks

Both are nice. Berko is much posher.

Chesham is Bucks so grammar school area. It has an excellent grammar.

Berko is Herts so it is comprehensive. Also has good schools.

Chesham has a much more ethnically diverse population than Berko.

Both are good. They are quite different. Visit Chesham, see if you like it.

If you can live within walking distance of the station, Berko is a much more cilvilised commute. And it has more independent shops and cafes. It is a lot more expensive though. As said above, visit Chesham and see what you think.
