Moving from London and want somewhere lively but green. Is the area around Montpelier ..st andrews.. good for families? Or is it busy with bars and drinkers etc?

Montpelier is the bridge between V established middle class family area At Andrews and the more urban St Pauls. Montpelier has some great bar cafes and restaurants and is a bit more boho than St Andrews, not really a scene of wild night life though, unless you on Picton Street.

Thanks that is very helpful. I'm now thinking of Southville instead - I want to be able to walk to the river...

Hi there!

How did you get on with Montpelier? I'm from bristol but have not lived there for over 10 years. Returning next year. Love the houses in Montpelier but feeling apprehensive as I'm unsure how many families live there?

I live in montpelier. There are loads of families here as well as retired folk and students. It’s a great mix and the community but it is a long walk to the river. Great views though and my other half loves running on purdown
