Twickenham Prep or Newland House

Hi all, I have a boy and girl due to start school next year and am deciding between TPS or NH. I need to send a deposit very shortly and am very confused!

I am looking for somewhere that is nurturing and where they will be happy as well as fulfilling their academic potential.

Does anyone have any experience of each of these schools? I have been to visit both but like them equally.

Many thanks!

Did you visit on an open day or during normal school day?

Have you considered Hampton pre-prep? They take girls too

Hampton pre-prep used to be Denmead

Hi, I went to both on open day.

I did look into Hampton pre-prep but the girls leave at 7 and the boys are tested at 7 and asked to leave if they don't pass which put me off. I would rather they both went to the same school until at least 11. Thanks

This is hearsay but my impression is Newland is more academic.
Which is closer.. can you walk to either. Easy journey is good. If you have to drive how's the parking.

Which is easiest to get to?

Newland House is very sporty / quite competitive environment.

TP seems more nurturing to me.
But i don't have kids there, just know lots of kids who have come out the other side and basing it on that.

Don't dismiss your local state schools. With a bit of tutoring in yr5 & 6 they get into many of the good independent secondaries (LEH, Surbiton, Hampton, KGS etc..)
However the sport is WAY better in the private preps if that is important, but again this area is full of out of school sporting opportunities.

Thanks for the responses. Unfortunately neither are walking distance as we live in Isleworth, however TPS has a morning school bus which picks up close to our house.

This and the fact that I prefer a more nurturing environment has led us to choose TPS.

Thanks again.

Parents I know at TPS are very content with it. Good luck op!
