Shotts - is it good place to live with kids?

Hi,
I would like to ask for honest advice if Shotts is a nice and safe place to live with kids. We are planning to buy our first house and we liked one house there but we know nothing about the town and schools there. At the moment we live in Edinburgh. Thanks a lot for all your answers

Nope.
It's quite insular and the weather is awful in the winter.

Are you needing somewhere that you can still commute daily to Edinburgh? I knew a couple of people from Shotts and they would say no not really a great place but you could pm the exact street and I could ask them what it's like for you.

I agree with Mari50. I Used to work in Shotts, and I was ever so glad to get a job away from there.

Hi I'm a mum of 3 kids all primary school going, one soon to start secondary. We are planning to move to Shotts. We have actually found a house and put an offer. Can you please guide how its like to move in that area?
