Best schools in Dorset

Hi
We are seriously considering moving to Dorset mainly due to so many outstanding schools. I've read many forums where some recommended Wimborne Minster as the best choice. Is this still the case or ore there any other areas to consider? We are looking for somewhere semi rural/small town but close to Poole/Bournemouth and the forest. X

Are you going state or private Blossom?

Either, depending on GCSE results.

For prep schools in that area Castle Court and Dumpton stand out. Wimborne is a lovely place to live and you would be near both of those schools. If you are looking for private senior schools you would have the choice of Canford, Clayesmore and Bryanston, all good, in different ways. Then of course you have Poole and Bournemouth's grammar schools, all accessible from Wimborne (don't know about catchment rules tho). If you decide to go to the towns themselves, Southbourne in Bournemouth is a good area as is Talbot Woods (if you have a girl, Talbot Heath school is v academic and good). As for Poole, look around Lilliput, Penn Hill, Lower Parkstone and Ashley Cross. If you go really spendy there is Canford Cliffs and Sandbanks. HTH.
