The mother/daughter duo Perdita & Honor Cargill who wrote the novels WAITING FOR CALLBACK and WAITING FOR CALLBACK: TAKE TWO will be appearing at No.8 The Old Book Shop, High Street, Downham Market on Sunday 29th January in conversation with book blogger and shop volunteer, Amber Kirk-Ford (of The Mile Long Book Shelf). There will be the chance for members of the audience to ask Perdita and Honor questions, and get your books signed. Refreshments will be available for a donation.

DATE: Sunday 29th January 2017
TIME: 2pm-3pm
TICKETS: This is a free and non-ticketed event. A monetary donation to the West Norfolk Deaf Association is encouraged but optional. Proceeds from sales of Waiting For Callback made at the event will also go to WNDA.

Brilliantly funny WAITING FOR CALLBACK, Perdita and Honor's debut novel, is GEEK GIRL meets FAME meets NEW GIRL.

When Elektra is discovered by an acting agent, she imagines Oscar glory can't be far away, but instead lurches from one cringe-worthy moment to the next! Just how many times can you be rejected for the part of 'Dead Girl Number Three' without losing hope? And who knew that actors were actually supposed to be multi-lingual, play seven instruments and be trained in a variety of circus skills?

Off-stage things aren't going well either - she's fallen out with her best friend, remains firmly in the friend-zone with her crush and her parents are driving her crazy. One way or another, Elektra's life is now spent waiting for the phone to ring - waiting for callback.

Can an average girl-next-door like Elektra really make it in the world of luvvies and starlets?

Though this novel is YA (aimed at Young Adults) it is suitable for, and has been enjoyed by, anyone 9+. There is no age restriction on this event, so come along and enjoy an afternoon of inspiring discussion, a Q&A, and plenty of signed books! Also Cake Smile

To get an idea of numbers it would be helpful if you plan to attend, if you could click 'Going' on this Facebook event post (not a problem if you don't use Facebook, don't worry!)
This is an event for charity so would be great if anyone in the area could share the event around.
Thanks ever so!

This is an amazing book shop, which is an asset to the local area. It's well worth a visit even if you don't go to this event. (I have no connection to it!)
