Cargilfield, Loretto, Fettes prep ?

Thinking of sending our child to one of the above - does anyone have any useful experience of any of these schools?
Especially interested in class sizes & pick-up times as I've heard the school days are very long...also DD is quite quiet , would this be an issue in any of these places?

Sorry to hear that! Does it mean someone who applied before you took the place, but in the mean time your DC's day at the school went ahead because the other family hadn't decided at that point? I suppose that must sometimes happen, otherwise nobody could look while one family took months to decide, which would be silly. Must be a bit annoying though; glad you have a school you're happy with.

The other family were on the list before us but looked around and sat assessments after us. In hindsight we should've booked our visit later, as we visited from overseas. We hadn't expected to like it as much as we did!

Just a quick update - places became available so will be going to Cargilfield in September after all. 6 months off before thinking about 13+ schools!

Great news! some of my friends will be moving from my Dd current independent school to Cargilfield also in September. Made me intrigued to look into it and I have to say it seems an absolutely splendid school! I'm sure your dc will be very very happy there :)
