Residents' parking in Woodstock

We are looking at a number of houses in and around central Woodstock. None of these mention off street parking and, as far as I can tell, there isn't a resident parking scheme. Most of the on-street parking appears limited to one hour.

Does anyone know what Woodstock residents do? Although there is a local co-op, I'm finding it hard to believe that no-one leaves and/or everyone there relies on public transport.

There is a car park on the road behind Co-op that is 23 hour, I think. And another car park by the library that doesn't have restrictions. Lots of the houses have drives and parking though - just not the central couple of streets.

Woodstock residents without private parking become obsessed with parking and, at certain times of the week/day, they try to avoid going out in the car in case they have to spend an hour circling the streets on their return. Many of the nicest houses are in the central part of town, without parking, but I wouldn't buy one myself and would advise a friend against it. Woodstock is a lovely place to live - IF you have a driveway.
