Hy everyone,
I had a viewing of a pretty house yesterday on Elthorne Avenue, I would like to know more about this area (neighborhood, safety , schools, kids facilities...) Any advice? Many thanks Smile

I live in Hanwell and am happy here, it is a mixed area which I think is good and have 2 children in local schools. How old are your children?

I live in W7, not far from Elthorne. It's a quiet area generally, family oriented, nice parks, some nice pubs and cafes too. It's not trendy but I think it's on the up, especially when Crossrail opens in a few years. Lots for kids to do. Mine aren't in school yet though.

Hi, thanks for answering me, I have 2 boys 10 and 12 years old.

There are several primary schools in the area with very good reputations. Secondaries, I know much less about but hopefully someone with more experience will be along shortly.

There is a great Facebook group called "Hanwell Friends" where people can advise you, I'd send a request to join and pose your questions there.

We're thinking of moving here from Acton, hence my daily searches flagged your request up!

I have a DC at Elthorne Park High School and another that went through it and is now at 6th form college. I've been generally happy with it although they did need a bit of pushing to give DS the support he needed with his dyslexia. DD is bright and academic and doing well there, she is in year 10 and is predicted to do well.

A new free school has just opened in temporary accommodation right next to EPHS, Ealing Fields, so you might want to check that out as well.
