Where is good for nye?

Hi we ve managed to get a babysitter and so we are planning on going out for nye with another couple.

I am totally out of the loop as not been out for years as have young children. Where can we go?

I am looking for somewhere fun with food and a dance floor but not too full on and quite low key. We are into more pop, jazz, live music type music than clubbing. The other things I ve looked at are £85-£120 which is way more than we want to spend. Also not keen on going to the waterfront. Possibly a nice restaurant/pub with live music and then dj.

Any suggestions?

Years and years ago a group of us went to aqua on Welsh back it was a meal then dj was a great night but usually we don't bother it's just a ball ache being out nye.

Don't know if it's still open even

I know. I am not really keen but friend wants to and Fil offered to babysit. Not been out for years on nye so no idea and left it too late so everywhere booked.

Funnily enough I avoid that aqua after getting food poisoning there years ago.

Dh doesn't want to do the tent- miserable bum
Will check out the social club thanks

I went to Prince Street Social recently. It was mid week and about two-thirds full, mistly one large, pre-booked Xmas party.

Our waitress was miserable, we were told we could only have nibbles as kitchen too busy to cope with any more orders, and nibbles could only be nuts and olives as they had run out of bread.

It wasn't terrible, but I was very underwhelmed. Hopefully NYE with all pre bookings etc would be less of a let down.

Update, don't book the social. I booked brunch there for the weekend they cancelled all brunch because chef was ill. Taken into account with pp I would say avoid.
Colstons hall and tobacco factory both normally have events on if dh has put the kybosh on the speigeltent.

yummymummycleo · 16/12/2016 16:07

Yes friends not keen on social. Thanks for info. Sorry you had a rubbish time.

We are really looking for somewhere with music to dance to but think we ve left if way too late.

Would love tobacco factory but booked out
