This year only 26.9% of pregnant women and 15.4% of 2-4 year olds in the Surrey Downs area have had their flu vaccinations. By Surrey Downs we mean Mole Valley, Epsom and Ewell, East Elmbridge, Dorking and surrounding areas. The flu virus can be terrible at the best of times, but it can be dangerous for those more prone to developing serious conditions from it.

The flu vaccination treats the most common form of flu virus. It is also not a live vaccine, and therefore, cannot make you ill from having it. It can however take two weeks from receiving the vaccine for it to be fully affective, so it is very important to get the vaccine before you have a chance to become unwell.

For further information on who is eligible and where you can get your vaccination, please visit: www.surreydownsccg.nhs.uk/cam...r-flu-vaccine/.

If you have questions or concerns about the vaccine, please speak to your pharmacist or GP.
