747 Bus Route

Hi all,
It's been ages since I've been on this site (can't believe how much it's grown and changed!) but I've come across an issue that I think needs to be spread as far and wide as possible ... so I turn to this fantastic community to do so!

The 747 bus route which runs from Leicester to Uppingham is being cancelled.

It is the only bus route than connects Uppingham to Leicester and, more than that, it is the only service that provides for 9 villages along the way - at lease 3500 people! And that only counts the ones that are actually on the A47 ... I know one guy who walks the 2.5 miles from Goadby to the stop in Tugby each day for work and I know of two people who walk the 3 miles from Ilston to Billesdon to get the bus to college.

Yes - it's on Facebook. We've contacted our MP (and the ones of surrounding constituencies just to be on the safe side ) our local councillor is on the case and we have a couple of contacts as BBC Leicester who are doing what they can.

Any other ideas would be gratefully received - we've only got a few weeks with Christmas in the middle!!

Sorry - misread your post a little - Leicester Spotted? Is that a group?? Not heard of that one but it'd be good to tap into it...
