We are entranced to have a family pass (2 adults, 3 children) to Christmas at Chatsworth: The Nutcracker, to offer as a prize.

‘Christmas at Chatsworth: The Nutcracker will see the house transformed to present the festive tale complete with lavish costumes, beautiful decorations, wonderful stage sets and a few fantastic surprises in store sure to captivate all who visit.

Visitors will be transported to a fairytale world populated by Nutcracker soldiers; elegant ballerinas and dancing snowflakes. All the cast will be on view - from the Mouse King and the Sugar Plum Fairy to the Nutcracker and Clara - to depict the story in a series of stunning tableau scenes throughout the house.

Everyone will be able to share in Clara's adventures as she is swept away by her Nutcracker Prince to a wonderful place where the magic really begins. In a clever twist, the visitor will be able to experience the story as though they are both in the audience at the theatre and stepping backstage at the ballet.

For a special added thrill, visitors of all ages will be invited to enter into the magic of the story with many costumes to try on.’

Christmas at Chatsworth: The Nutcracker runs from 5th November 2016 to 3rd January 2017, including a Christmas Market from 12th – 30th November.

For more information see Christmas at Chatsworth

To enter, please post in the thread below, by midnight on Sunday 20th November, your answer to this question:

Who, or what, would you most like to become, in a fairytale world of Christmas?

The winner will be notified on Monday 21st November and must respond by noon on Wednesday 23rd November to accept their prize.

It would have to be tinkerbell- would love to be able to join the lost boys in never never land but also have the ability to make wishes come true!

Badders123 · 07/11/2016 20:56

I would be Lucy from the Narnia books :)

Carriemac · 07/11/2016 21:53

Klara from the nutcracker

Silenenutans · 07/11/2016 22:52

I'd like to be a sugary, sparkly Nanny Plum fairy - magical, fun and effective!

treetrunkthighs · 07/11/2016 22:59

Sally from The Nightmare Before Christmas. There is something strangely attractive about Jack Skellington.

PippaFawcett · 07/11/2016 23:06

I would be the first snowflake of a flurry of snow to arrive on a Christmas Day - imagine the excitement of the children seeing me arrive.

defineme · 08/11/2016 00:02

I think I would have to go fot the top job: Father Christmas!

Ratbagcatbag · 08/11/2016 08:03

Tough one. Santa would be quite cool but I'd be knackered after all that travelling (and drunk from all the booze left out, I'm such a lightweight these days).
Maybe the elf on the shelf, a whole month of deliberately causing chaos. I could get into that Xmas Grin

hutchy73 · 08/11/2016 13:22

A fairy that could dance - I've never been girly or been able to dance so that would be great

nottinghamgal · 08/11/2016 22:27

I would be Elf from the film Elf!

I love that guy and he is so full of all the joys of Christmas everyday.

PEARLJAM123 · 10/11/2016 20:19

Mother Christmas 🎁

hoops120 · 10/11/2016 21:03

I'd love to be Aladdin, so that I could travel on a magic carpet

neura · 11/11/2016 18:06

Elsa from Frozen, so I can make Christmas Ice Skating Rinks or a Winter Wonderland :)

Jugglingallthebollocks · 12/11/2016 17:15

Home alone😉

Rowlers · 12/11/2016 20:22

I'd be the little boy from The Snowman.
I first saw this film as a youngish teenager, and for me it captures the essence of Christmas for children; the anticipation, the 'magic', the beauty of midwinter, the kindness we are able to show to each other.
Love Christmas.

MidwifeMolly · 15/11/2016 18:12

I would be Mrs Claus and look after Santa so he do the most important job on Christmas Eve

Natah · 18/11/2016 20:53

I'd be one of Santa's elf helpers so I could help distribute toys to all the kiddie-winks!

Growingflowers · 19/11/2016 21:05

My daughter would like to be a magical Christmas genie who grants wishes to all the good children.

Mama1980 · 19/11/2016 21:26

The sugar plum fairy :)

MaidMarianAndHerMerryMen · 21/11/2016 14:59

A pantomime dame!! 😂

LocalEditorNottingham · 21/11/2016 17:18

Congratulations to our winner, Rowlers!

Commiserations to everyone else. We do now have five other Christmassy competitions running on this board - do take a look if you haven't already Smile
